With an apparent flair for the dramatic, Big Winds managing partner Steve Gates got locked up in another epic battle at the finish of the inaugural Oregon Open Ocean Classic SUP Race off the coast of Newport, Oregon on Saturday, August 28.
After an hour and a half of constant paddling in a choppy sea, it all came down to a footrace for 2nd place in the 14' division, with Steve barely nosing out Dino, before they both crashed to the sand, totally spent.
