2007 Starboard Kombat 79
The Kombat is designed as a one-board solution for wave and swell riding, freeride blasting and freestyle. Our testers found the Kombat to be quick to plane, and solid and controllable at speed in choppy water. It's a great jump board and is loose enough to have fun in swells or moderate waves. The jibes are solid and predictable.
The Kombat comes with two fins to take full advantage of their range from freeride blasting to swell and wave riding. The new Kombat Aero opens up tremendous light air fun in a super compact plan shape, allowing for an amazingly loose and quick planing board.
What's new?
The new 2007 shapes feature thinner rails and the "Spiraling Vee" concept: there is more vee in the front than in the tail. As you carve, the forward vee engages and directs the board into the turn - just like the front steering wheels of a car. In freeride mode, the reduced vee under your feet makes for a higher, crisper ride that feels more responsive and free.
The new Kombat-Aero 117 and 127:
Especially designed for lighter winds or heavier sailors, these boards replace last season's Aeros with slightly narrower widths, narrower noses and thinner rails, to deliver more responsiveness and maneuverability with a definitive speed advantage. The new Kombat-Aeros also feature heel bumpers.
